Hair. Its meaning and significance have been explored in many ways.

Women know about hair; they tend to cut it off dramatically when changing relationships. Samson- the biblical strongman- knew about hair: it cost him his life. Schools and armies know about hair- they equate its tidyness and length to discipline and manliness.
One of our most powerful anchors for transformation is the creation of memorials. Changing our hair can symbolise many things. Sub cultures often work with identity and hair very publically- think punk swith mohawks versus skin heads. Initiations and rites of passage many times include decorating or changing the hair. Some cultures mark births andfdeaths with the shaving of hair. People often treasure clippings of hair.
Consciously changing your life uses energy: making magick with your hair or expressing yourself through your hair is a wonderful way to play with the seriousness of transformation. What will you do with yours?

I have always been in a constant stage of transformation- my hair, as you know, defines me and always reflects my mood and health state. Right now my hair is the longest its ever been. Perhaps its my newly learnt trait, patience or perhaps I no longer feel the need to be in constant change state. I just love my hair and my curls and now won’t part with it unless i have to !

Maybe its because Love is in the Hair? And that always brings with it softness, and playfulness and peace! Love your hair BTW.
